What is a VPA? - In
a conventional office, they would be referred to as
an 'Administrative Assistant' but to the 'on-line'
world they are called 'Virtual Assistants'. They are
both similar, aside from one major difference: a VPA
works from their own office and uses their own equipment,
instead of being physically present in your office
to carry out the work.
For a growing small business, the need for extra assistance
is often a requirement that can be unfeasible due
to limited office space, equipment, or funds. In addition,
the time required to find and train an assistant,
may be time that cannot be afforded.
Businesses that experience
regular (or one-off) periods of heavy pressure, due
to excessive paper work and tasks, often require the
assistance of an extra body to ease the pressure when
that time calls. The alternative to employing a full,
or part-time, assistant would be to hire a Virtual
Assistant.
To the small businessperson VPAs can mean the difference
between failure and success. Unlike larger corporations,
smaller businesses seldom have the space or resources
for an extra employee to take the weight out of their
ever-increasing workload.
For the international business person a VPA is the
vital link with clients when traveling, or when a
special report or presentation is required. VPAs
are a necessary link when they are out of the office.
For the consultant, professional or coach, VPAs
can handle reports and administration and enable
them to spend more time marketing or enjoying the
extra hours available to them.
