Busy Lizzie is the Bees Knees

Recently launched Lifestyle Company, Busy Lizzie, won the innovative Business Women Award for 2005 at the Business and Professional Women’s Club (BPW) on Thursday 3rd March.

The company was formed only four months ago by its founder, Tara-Fay Dalrymple who moved to Galway from England only nine months ago. She was presented with a trophy and cheque for 2,000 euros by Sky TV’S anchor presenter Grainne Seoighe at the prize winning ceremony in The Ardilaun Hotel, in Galway.

Busy Lizzie aims to give back quality time to customers by freeing up their spare time. The company will undertake multiple mundane tasks from organising overcrowded and outdated wardrobes, waiting in for the gasman, weekly grocery shopping and arranging conferences to various secretarial functions.

On receiving the award Tara-Fay said, “I would like to thank BPW and The Galway County & City Enterprise Board Ltd for this great opportunity. Lifestyle Management is a new concept and will help people to restore their work/life balance. It’s an affordable service for everyone from single parents and professional couples to house parents and businesses.”

Busy Lizzie gives individuals all the tools they need and those they never thought of to get started.

Busy Lizzie has been selected with thirteen other County Galway based companies into the semi finals of the competition.

The competition is open to all between the ages of 18 and 40 years, who are owners/managers and are primarily responsible for the performance of their business. Businesses must also be operational for a minimum of one year and located within Galway city and county.

The winner of the competition receives a Price Waterhouse Coopers Consultancy package to the value of €5,000, which is a hugely significant addition to any company, offering an invaluable amount of financial advice and consultancy, essential to the continual and further development of any business.

Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award

Busy Lizzie Lifestyle Management has been nominated as one of eighteen finalists in the West of Ireland regional heat taking place at the Radisson SAS, Athlone on Thursday 20th October. The winner of the heat will ultimately go forward to compete for the title of Young Entrepreneur of the Year at the National Final in December.

The annual LiveWIRE Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards in partnership with TV3 and the City & County Enterprise Boards celebrates the spirit of enterprise that is alive and kicking in Ireland’s young people. The competition is open to anyone aged 16-31 whose business was set up in the last year. This year’s competition will make separate awards in recognition of potential in both local and knowledge based international markets.
